Thanksgiving 2009

Our Thanksgiving this year was a busy one. It was really fun though. We spent 5 days at my parents house in Puyallup. My brother deploy's for Iraq tomorrow, so we all came home to spend the holiday together and celebrate his 30th birthday. It was a little crazy with 11 adults and 7 kids running around but totally worth it. Here's how our week went.

Miss Ava got a hair cut that looks really cute. Thanks aunt Alli!

Me and Alli, Melissa and my Mom went and saw New Moon. It was really fun, and we really liked it- well, Alli and I did.

Thanksgiving dinner at Trav and Steph's new house. So much to be thankful for!

Me, Allison and my mom, getting ready for games

Most of the family, minus some kids who were asleep

Scary picture of me trying on Travis' gear. It is super heavy. If I tripped, there was no way I wasn't going down.

Our brave soldier on his 30th birthday. We love you Travis! Be safe!
We had such a nice time with our family. We are so thankful for them!

Christmas Dress

I finished Ava's Christmas dress today! I'm so excited about how it turned out and wanted to show everyone. My friend Michelle is going to let me make her girls some dresses too, so I'm pretty excited to do that too!

The bottom has a little petticoat ruffle that hangs out and looks so cute!

Here's the whole thing! Ava looked so cute in it too!
When we get some good pics of her in it, I'll post them!

New Pictures

My good friend Laurie, took our family out to the arboretum on U of I's campus last Saturday to take some pictures. I thought they turned out great!

My kids are so cute!! The leaves were actually wet, so every time Ava threw them, water went everywhere. Parker didn't really like it.
Our little family. Hopefully, we'll be getting a new family pic after I lose a little weight.

Ava and Parker did so great! The cooperated really well.

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween everyone!! We had a great year trick-or-treating! Ava could finally say it and really got into it this year!

Here's Tinkerbell and Peter Pan.
Their costumes turned out so good, I was so excited!

My little Tink. She loved her costume.
There was this gal at the mall who actually took her picture as she was
trick or treating. It was a little weird actually.

Peter Pan to the rescue!! I loved Parker's hat, it looked so cute on him!

I made some modifications to his costume after this picture.
He ended up looking like Peter Pan instead of the Hulk.

Here's Ava and her good friend Ayla
We went to our ward Halloween Party then went to the mall to do some more
trick or treating with our friends.
What a fun night!

Halloween Shirts

I decided to make the kids some halloween shirts this year and I think they turned out really cute. They weren't anything super complicated either. I just bought some iron on transfers from Michaels and voila!! Ava's has a pair of spooky eyes on the back too!

Just thought this was a cute picture of my little peanut. He's such a happy boy. At night when Daniel is home, he and Ava just gravitate towards him. It's cute, by the time bed time rolls around they are both curled up on Daniel's lap. They love their daddy!

Parker still isn't crawling. Even though Ava was crawling at this age, I'm not worried. He's started doing these push ups and I figure he'll start here pretty quick. We've tried putting him up on his knees and he doesn't love it. I'm in no hurry really, he's growing up too fast!

Bowling

We took Ava bowling for the first time today and she totally loved it!! She was so excited, every time we threw the ball she started clapping and screaming, " Good job Daddy! Good Job!!" She couldn't wait until it was her turn.
She really loved pushing the ball down the ramp. After she pushed it down, she didn't wait to watch the ball, she turned around and headed back to get another ball. It was kind of funny.

So you know you're bad at bowling when your 2 year old beats you. Yes, it's true, I'm terrible at bowling. We had so much fun. Things are so much more exciting now that we can take Ava out to do new things. It's a fun age!

Apples, Teeth & Twins

Ok, I'll start at the beginning. My sister Sarah told us all she was pregnant with her last baby, a few months ago. Every time I talk to her, which is usually every day, she tells me she keeps thinking that she's pregnant with twins. She's not sure why, but she just feels like she is. So she went in for her first appointment last week and they did an ultrasound. Sarah's feeling was right, she is pregnant with twins!! She called me totally freaking out, but has since come to terms with it and what it means for her and her family. And now, she's very excited. She is only 11 weeks pregnant but is measureing 23 weeks. YIKES!! Since she told everyone, I have breathed a sigh of relief. If Sarah is having twins it means, I probabely won't right? Of course right, twins don't happen that often in one family. Yay for Sarah and taking one for the team!!

Next, my little peanut has finally sprouted 2 teeth. He's been really cranky about it, but it has finally happened. Unfortunately, I see about 6 more ready to pop through. Poor guy. It has been a rough couple of nights for him and mom and dad. Up every 2 hours!!

And finally, the apples. So last Friday night it froze up here in Pullman. The WSU orchards have been selling their fruit for the last couple of weeks. But after the freeze, everything will turn to mush. In fact, their fuji apples weren't even ripe yet and they lost the whole crop due to the freeze. So on Saturday, in an effort to get rid of all the apples before they turned to mush, you could go and pick as much as you wanted for free! Even though I had already canned applesauce a few weeks ago, me and my friends Becky and Michelle, went and picked 150 pounds of apples! What were we thinking right? Well, they had to be canned within 48 hours or they would be rotten. So Saturday night, the 3 of us stayed up until 1:30 AM canning applesauce, apple butter, apple syrup and making apple pies. It was so exhausting, but it was really fun too. Things get really funny that late!
