Happy 4th!!

This year our 4th of July was really laid back. It was awesome. We had so much fun. We're so lucky to live close to my sister Sarah and her family as well as Daniel's brother and his family. We went to the Albion parade with Sarah, Peter and their kids. It was perfect. It wasn't sweltering hot and it wasn't too long. It was just right. The kids loved it too. They got so much candy from all the floats.

Some floats were even handing out otter pops.

This was at the end of the parade. Olivia and Andrew were having a bit of a meltdown and Colson was sound asleep in the stroller. He slept through the whole thing.

Daniels brother Nicholas, and his wife Christina and super involved in politics. I think it's really cool actually. I think if I was too involved it would consume me and just make me so mad. So I vote and try to stay informed. Anyhow, Nicholas and Christina are the county coordinators for the Republican party in Whitman county. So they got to walk in the parade and hand out stickers. We got our vote for Romney stickers from them.

Cousins Whitney & Caitlin got to ride in the parade too. They're in the back of the truck.

Afterward we had a barbeque at Sarah's. There was so much food! It was delicious. The plan was to go swimming in Sarah's pool but the heater had burned out and it was FREEZING!! But, the babies were the only ones who really didn't care. They had a grand ole time in the water and were blue after. So we threw them in the bath after and they had more fun in there.

When I was growing up, we always went to the river to watch the firework shows the city put on. Pullman does a great show, but it doesn't start until 10 pm. When our kids are older we might attempt it, but it's just too late for them. So Daniel picked up a few fireworks and we lit them off at Sarah's house.

The pop its and sparklers were a hit with the kids.

Daniel lit off some more that were really cool too. We all had a great time.

Even Colson who is always happy as long as he's got his thumb and his blanket! Happy Birthday America!!
